My name is Katie and I am the co-founder of the Literary Lounge!
I’m twenty-five, a history student based in Nottingham, and I’ve never quite shaken my obsession with stories. Whether it’s a dusty archive, a novel that keeps me up far too late, or the kinds of tales you stumble across in everyday life, I’m endlessly drawn to the ways people shape and share narratives.
Books have been my constant since childhood, and writing has always been the natural extension of that love. This blog is where I bring those passions together — part reading journal, part creative outlet, and part space for exploring how stories (real and imagined) connect us.
Outside of studying and writing, I spend my time curating my TBR, experimenting in the kitchen, and finding joy in small, cosy rituals. I’ve always believed that a good story can change how you see the world, and that’s the kind of magic I hope to capture here.

Meet Amelia!

My name is Amelia and I am the other co-founder of the Literary Lounge!
I have been a story-lover since young, the reading part came later but ever since I realised I could temporarily reside in a secret garden or a fantasy land, I much preferred fictional worlds to my own. Once a reader to escape, and now a reader to expand, I don’t know which is my favourite: literature to study, or popular reads to wash over me.
Either way, I’m an English student – and one day, I hope, journalist – so a book is always near by. And now, so is The Literary Lounge. Where I hope I can expand my writing (because yes I hope one day I too, can be as eloquent as the writers I frequent) and scream at how powerful these reads can be.
As a twenty year old, I live for the real-life reads. The realism, the magic in mundane living, the representation of existence. Or some extraordinary feminist literature I can rage about at the top of my lungs. So I hope in my reviews and my writing, you too find your genres, your newfound comfort reads, and at the very least, a literary friend you can rely on (Katie and I can help with that).
