Big Voices, Bigger Drama: Jersey Boys Bring the Hits to Nottingham
Written by Katie Barr
Some shows arrive with a buzz. Jersey Boys arrives with a back catalogue you already know by heart. The Tony and Olivier Award-winning smash-hit musical is heading to the Royal Concert Hall Nottingham from Tuesday 30 June to Saturday 4 July 2026 as part of its 20th Anniversary Tour — and honestly, this feels like one of those theatre nights that is going to have the whole audience humming before they have even reached the car park.
Because Jersey Boys is not just a jukebox musical. It is the story behind the songs. The grit behind the glamour. The fallouts behind the flawless harmonies. It takes us from the streets of New Jersey to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, following Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons as four ordinary guys become one of the most recognisable sounds in music history.
And what a sound it is.
Sherry. Big Girls Don’t Cry. Walk Like A Man. Can’t Take My Eyes Off You. Beggin’. Oh What a Night. This is the sort of setlist that does not politely ask for your attention — it grabs it, spins it around, and has you trying very hard not to sing along too loudly.
But the real magic of Jersey Boys is that it gives you more than the hits. Yes, the music is irresistible, but the story has bite too. Behind those slick suits and soaring vocals were egos, loyalties, debts, ambition, betrayal and brotherhood. On stage, their harmonies were perfect. Off stage, things were much messier — and that is exactly what makes the show so compelling.

The 20th Anniversary Tour brings together a hugely talented cast, led by Luke Baker as Frankie Valli, alongside Carlo Boumouglbay as Tommy DeVito, Lewis Kennedy as Nick Massi and Toby Miles as Bob Gaudio. With the original Broadway creative team behind the production, this is not a watered-down version of a classic. It is the real deal, polished, punchy and packed with the energy that made the show an international phenomenon.
There is a reason Jersey Boys has won 65 major awards and been seen by more than 30 million people worldwide. It has that rare, feel-good theatre sparkle — the kind that appeals to musical lovers, music lovers, date-night planners, parents, grandparents and anyone who claims they “do not really do musicals” before leaving completely converted.
It is stylish, nostalgic, dramatic and ridiculously entertaining. It has songs that still sound fresh decades later, a story that keeps moving, and the kind of finale that will almost certainly have Nottingham on its feet. So, whether you grew up with Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, discovered the songs through film, radio or your parents’ record collection, or simply fancy a night of brilliant live theatre, Jersey Boys is one to book early.
Because some shows are too good to be true — and this one knows exactly how to prove it.
Jersey Boys runs at the Royal Concert Hall Nottingham from Tuesday 30 June to Saturday 4 July 2026. Tickets are available from www.trch.co.uk or via the Box Office on 0115 989 5555. Not in Nottingham? Check the tour for dates near you!
